Research and Development projects
We work with growers to deliver bespoke commercial crop trials and R&D programmes, or research institutions, universities and grant-funded projects to advance the science and application of Advanced Aeroponics™. Get in touch to discuss how we can support your work.
World-leading aeroponic research facilities, open for collaboration
Research and Development facilities
Our UK-based research facilities
Vertical farm
Our indoor farming research facility in Bristol, purpose-built for both commercial crop development and R&D.
The facility offers 100m² of vertical growing capacity across three separate growing chambers, plus dedicated germination and preparation rooms.
It provides the space to trial new crops, hardware and software without disrupting commercial growing operations, and is controlled by LettUs Grow's farm management software, Ostara.
Greenhouse
Our 200m² glasshouse research facility in Bristol, designed for working directly with growers and innovation partners to co-develop products, recipes and strategies across a wide range of crops.
The site houses our latest Aeroponic Rolling Bench™ technology and is open to visits and collaboration with commercial partners and research institutions.
Two routes to collaboration
Our facilities and expertise are designed to de-risk investment decisions and prove concept for novel and opportunity crops. Whether you need a bespoke trial programme or a research partner for a funded project, we offer flexible routes to work with our team and access our Bristol facilities.
Paid agronomy and contract R&D
Bespoke trials designed to optimise your growing operation and complete proof-of-concept trials to overcome specific crop challenges, delivering the data-backed confidence you need before commercial deployment.
Grant-funded collaboration
We have an established track record of partnering on high-impact UK and EU research projects. If you are developing a grant application or looking for a technology partner for an existing funded project, we would like to hear from you.
How research collaboration works
From initial conversation through to ongoing partnership, here is what working with our research team looks like, step by step.
-
We start with a call to understand your research goals, crop requirements and timeline. This helps us identify the right route to collaboration and whether paid R&D or grant-funded partnership is the best fit.
-
We work with your team to define the scope of the programme, agreeing input parameters, key data points, optimisation criteria and reporting requirements before any trials begin.
-
Trials are conducted at our Bristol research facilities. Each trial is preceded by a planning meeting and followed by a completion meeting to discuss findings and next steps.
-
At the conclusion of each trial we provide a full crop recipe datasheet, all trial data and a scientific report, giving you everything you need to move forward with confidence.
-
Before, during and after the programme you have access to our agronomy and plant science teams to support your work at every stage.
-
We work with many of our research partners on an ongoing basis, building long-term collaborations that advance the science and commercial application of Advanced Aeroponics™.

We operate two facilities in Bristol. Avon Valley is our indoor farming research centre, offering 96m² of vertical growing capacity across three separate growing chambers. Heath Farm is our glasshouse Aeroponic Innovation Centre, where we work directly with growers and innovation partners to co-develop products, recipes and strategies across a wide range of crops.
-
We offer two routes. Paid agronomy and contract R&D programmes are designed around specific crop challenges or commercial targets. We also partner on grant-funded UK and EU research projects. Both routes give you access to our facilities, technology and agronomy team.
