Introducing Bristol Basil Co. – Powered by LettUs Grow

Locally Grown. Sustainably Grown. Community Grown.

We’re proud to share the launch of Bristol Basil Co., a new community-focused initiative from LettUs Grow. Born from our R&D greenhouses at Heath Farm, Bristol Basil Co. is reimagining how fresh herbs reach local restaurants, delivering quality basil with minimal food miles and maximum flavour.

This new venture is simple: instead of letting trial crops from our aeroponic systems go to waste, we’re now growing high-quality basil for hand-picked local partners, using the same cutting-edge technology we develop for commercial-scale horticulture.

It’s a hyperlocal, high-impact model that champions taste, sustainability and transparency and all rooted firmly in Bristol.

Why It Matters

Herbs like basil are often flown in from overseas, losing flavour and racking up emissions before they ever hit a plate. At Bristol Basil Co., we’re doing things differently. Grown in high-tech greenhouses using our Advanced Aeroponics™, our basil uses minimal water, zero peat, and no pesticides and it’s harvested just a few miles from where it’s served.

It’s a small intervention with big potential. And in true LettUs Grow style, we’re collaborating with some of Bristol’s most inspiring food businesses to get it right.

Powered by Partnership

We’re thrilled to be working with the brilliant team at Pizzarova, one of Bristol’s most loved pizza restaurants to trial our first farm-to-table rollout. They’ll be using our basil on their summer menus, and we’ll be collaborating on everything from behind-the-scenes farm visits to co-branded stalls and storytelling across the city.

“We’re super excited to be working with The Bristol Basil Co here at Pizzarova, I love meeting likeminded people trying to achieve the same goals as us on sustainability, innovation, and big flavour,” Tom Castle, Head of Food at Pizzarova commented when asked about the partnerhsip.

“Having locally grown Basil is an amazing opportunity for us and it truly is one of the best ingredients I’ve had the pleasure of cooking with. So knowing it’s being grown with care by lovely people makes a huge difference. We’re excited for our future ahead!” he added.

We're also speaking to changemakers like The Mazi Project to explore how this initiative can support more sustainable, inclusive food systems across Bristol.

What’s Next?

Bristol Basil Co. is more than just a basil brand. It’s a celebration of what’s possible when technology meets community. Over time, we’ll expand to include other crops and local partners all powered by LettUs Grow’s mission to build a better food system.
